Class 2 visited Julians Farm again today. They spent a morning farming and an afternoon down on the Culm exploring.
Well, what a day! Bradworthy Academy's Class 2 have had a very busy day. They learnt all about Food and Farming this morning, seeing different ages of cattle on the farm and talking about why we farm. They got to sit in and on our tractors and finally made some veg boxes and planted a variety of different seeds. These boxes then went back to school with the children for them to look after and watch grow into food.
The afternoon was spent taking a lovely walk down to the Culm, exploring the hedgerows as we went. We collected a variety of different leaves and flowers, saw a frog and the Marsh Fritillary Butterfly too. We also saw lots of other bugs, beetles and insects which live in the Culm.
The children then came back to the classroom and made flower presses with what they had collected. These have gone back to school too to be pressed for a week or so, then made into some wonderful creations!
Thank you Class 2 for a brilliant day.
